A New Year, A New Me

Here it is 2013 and I am weighing more than I did a year ago. This year I expect to lose about 25-50 lbs. but would like to make some friends who are hoping to lose the same amount of weight to help me, keep motivated and suggest new food ideas. I am 68 years old and still working so I also need motivation to do some exercising. If anyone is interested, I would be much appreciated. I live in the Northeast US where the weather is cold and keeps me inside a lot. HELP!

Lots of great support on here! I am a busy bee working 2 jobs so I struggle to find time to work out. Feel free to add me!
  • I am also trying to lose over fifty pounds and would love to have some encouragement. Feel free to drop me a line whenever you need a little support and or want to just chat about our process and journey with losing weight.
  • Had to get started as it's too easy to sit back and do nothing. Had a hysterectomy in Nov 12 so aiming to lose the weight now I can exercise again. Got about 2 st to lose but 3 would be better
  • I have been struggling with food addiction since I was four years old, and if I could remember earlier on than that, I'd probably have been in the food then too. I have had periods of recovery, usually followed by worse food relapses. I've been on a diet since I was in fourth grade, spent my formative years hiding in big blue sweatshirts, perfecting my primo personality (to fool people into thinking I was worthy of knowing) and then got in with other addictions to drugs and alcohol. It wasn't pretty.
I could be discouraged by all of this experience of trying so hard, and not getting where I need to go, but I choose to remain grateful for this journey I am on. As someone who has received a lot of help from other addicts, I want to lose weight so that I could feel better about myself, and then help other people like me lose the weight that they need to lose.
