Do Slendertone belts work??

I am not allowed to do sit ups due to a back problem so I wondered if these work as I really want to tone my tummy.
Any feedback of your experiences having used a Slendertone belt would be awesome. Thanks.

You don't need sit ups to tone your stomach. Lower your body fat and do compound exercises (if your back issues allow)

No gimmick is going to tone anything. Sit ups aren't good for anyone but try googling Plank exercises. Anyone should be able to do them and they are the best core exercise you can do.

It's a gimmick, save your money. Abs are made in the kitchen. Best way to lose belly fat? - lose weight. Just stick to your calorie goal. And also sit ups don't give you a lot of bang for your buck. Do compound moves, full body exercises, and body weight exercises for a bigger all around calorie burn.

Mine worked for me, but you have to use it every day for an extended period of time - like several months. Like all things there is no instant result.

During this time did you eat right and exercise?

You can't spot reduce fat. Also, there are many non-sit up ab exercises out there

The do wrk I have one but at the same time you need to do cardio to reduce fat and watch your food intake, same as crunches/sit ups etc

Omg I remember these! We got a crap ton into Zellers when I use to work there. They all sold for 50 cents after because everyone who bought them tried to return them. One of the guys got drunk and hooked it up to his head. Apparently it hurt  One way to work your brain....

On a side note. Working a particular area won't get rid of fat in that area fyi. If your goal is a smaller stomach, this won't work. What you want is a calorie deficit and exercise in general. You don't need direct ab work if you ask me.

Also what kind of back problems? I was in a motorcycle accident and have extra bones in my spine. I wouldn't recommend situps but squats after much practice and pain are becoming my best friend.

NOPE, may make you sweat and boost your metabolism a little but wont take it off your "waist" or tone your stomach. If you can't do situps (which aren't that great anyway) do searches online for "Core Exercises / bad back core exercises" etc. I'm sure you can find something you're able to do. Planks maybe? You don't bend at all.

I was following the Slimfast diet and no, did no exercise over and above my usual stuff - eat. sleep, work, and 1x 2hr session of Aikido a week. This was a few years ago and when my work became more sedentary (ie lots of driving!) I started to put the weight back - hence why I am here now!! I didnt get totally ripped, but that is not a look I want because I would never maintain it. I just wanted things tightened up a bit, which it did. But as I say, I had to use it every day just as if I were exercising normally. It is not a quick fix, just more convenient whilst I am working on my laptop in the evenings.

I had an ab zapping belt once. They only work if you have no fat on you. I got a 6 pack from using it (no other exercise other than using the tv remote). I had so little fat that if I was laying down you could count my ribs. If you have fat on you beyond what I just described, it wont show results.
