A Healthy Night!

Tonight I was hosting a group of friends for Bible study. The rule is that the host doesn't have to provide anything but drinks, and the guests bring food whenever possible - so sometimes you take food, sometimes you just eat what others provided. It's potluck snacking. Anyway, I knew I wanted to only eat healthy and not eat the cookies, chips, etc that others usually take. So I cut up vegetables and made a lowfat dip, and I provided apple slices and clementines. Would you believe that only one person brought additional food, which is highly unusual, and everyone really enjoyed snacking on the healthy food! It made me feel great to have a variety of fresh, healthy food to offer my friends, and I hadn't blown my calories at the end of the night!

  • Thats awesome. Maybe it will catch on and the others will start bringing fruit and veggies
  • That was a good idea to make sure you had something healthy to snack on even though you didn't have to. Seems like church functions always involve food! :drinker: I have had similar issues with my Sunday School class so I just make sure that I bring something I know I can fit into my daily calories without going over. You did great!:flowerforyou:
