My last year in a nutshell

I am starting today. I will live with no regrets. I will not be fat.
I am a 36 year old female. 5'10 and a half, 223 pounds. My goal weight is 180. That is where I am comfortable and "feel" my best.
One year ago I started training for a local 10K race. I am not a runner/jogger or otherwise. I hate running. I did it to see if I could do it. The very first day I started jogging I began to feel numbness in my fingers. It progressed into numbness so bad that I couldn't grasp the steering wheel of my car. I went to the Dr. He thought I had Carpel Tunnel and sent me to a hand Dr. that Dr. sent me to get an MRI of my neck and shoulder area since my hand x-ray was clear. I have 2 slightly bulging discs in my neck and there began my descent into NO exercise. I also was on a lot of medications to try and help the pain and the nerves from stinging my neck and arms. All the pain meds made me sick/have hives/ or dumb out. I have kids so I wasn't into any of that. I then got a traction unit and that helped. It took several months for me to start feeling better and any extra movement sent me on my back with the heating pad. During all of this mess I was kicking my live in boyfriend OUT who was a chronic liar and my Dr. also diagnosed me with onset-type 2 diabetes. She gave me Metformin to take and with everything else I was taking I couldn't do another huge pill. I stopped taking it.
Here I am 40 pounds overweight/ 30 of them gained in ONE year. I know what I need to do and I know how to it. I just need to stick to it!!
My plan is to use MFP to help track what I eat so I can look back and see how the foods affect my sugar levels. I'll also use this site as a motivational tool as I see very encouraging people, UNLIKE WW...where I encountered the same group of people from 6 years ago, still on there, using similar names and still being rude and condescending.
I have begun P90X and this is my second go at it. I did it 2 years ago and had success. This time around it seems VERY difficult and it's probably due to the extra weight and the neck tingles I get when I do too much.
I've been reading a lot about Diabetes and how it can affect your life and also Stress. I plan to also incorporate Yoga back into my life.
I will be posting a before and after picture at the end of January.
Feel free to add me for support!
Good Luck!
