Polar Watch... Need Your Opinion!

Hi,

I am in the process of purchasing a polar watch (I'm in the store!). I was hoping if anyone can tell me which one is the best to get... there are so many here. I want something that tells me how many calories I burn 24/7 so I can eat them back daily.

What do you have?

they are only meant to tell you what you burn while working out. I have a Polar FT4 and love it.
  • Ive got an FT7. It doesnt work out calories 24/7 as you have to wear a strap at all times.
I love mine syncs to the gym equipment

So if you wear it 24/7, would that benefit you?

so its only for the gym.. gotcha..

are the machines, elliptical, etc. not accurate?
  • I wouldnt personally because I only want to track what I burn off during exercise.
    I agree with Bellafe,
  • Spin machines at my gym do not calculate calories burnt or HR
I have found my HRM has been more accurate than the machines and its nice knowing that I dont have to remember lots of numbers at once as its stored on my HRM.
Also I use mine during weights and group sessions

in my opinion not as accurate as wearing your HRM you will notice a difference between both.

They do have things you can wear all day, bodymedia fit and the fitbit are examples.

HRM for workouts. FitBit or similar device for tracking 24/7.
