I am horrible for getting late night craveings. I would love to stop eating after 9pm. Anyone have suggestions on how to beat those late night munchies?

A few suggestions:1. Eat veggies (with no dip)
2. Drink water instead
3. Stay busy with activities- reading, exercising, cleaning, talking on the phone
4. Sit on your hands and DO NOT go in your kitchen!
5. Go to bed0 -
Seriously I can't. I have to eat a bit.
-having healthy-tasty snacks ready-to-eat: when I open the fridge door OH I see those delicious apples with a slice of cheese (much better than my usual bag of chips)
-doing my nails: when I'm applying nail polish I just cannot touch chips.
-I have a popcorn machine (air-popped)0 -
I've battled this foreverr. It's habit. I'm used to eating before bed so I always want to. I did break myself of this habit by sheer force of will for a couple months. However, my weight loss is the same no matter WHEN I eat, so I eat bedtime snacks or even full meals now because I just prefer it. I usually save at least 300 calories for before bed.
But the way I broke my habit for a while was this: nighttime routine. Make a new habit to replace the eating. Mine was -- cup of tea while I read, then wash face and hands, brush and floss teeth, and no more food after I've brushed.0 -
I almost always have a snack before bed...partially because its habit and partially because that is the only time of day that i can sit and eat something in peace:) I usually have a 100 calorie bag of popcorn and an apple before bed or string cheese and some pretzels....it has never gotten in the way of my weight loss...in fact i think it helps me because im not starving when i wake up in the morning.0

Or you can buy Cascade Ice drinks that are super yummy and zero cals, fat, sodium, sugars, protein, & carb free.
also its caffeine free and gluten free.0 -
I will sometimes have a bowl of frosted shredded wheat around 7ish...this helps me when I have my craveings...0

How late is late? I find that, if I stay up too late, I start to get peckish. The solution for that is to just go to bed without eating anything. However, if the issue is that your body wants a bedtime snack, save some calories each day for a bedtime snack.0

I think that every one gets those, it's just a habit that you have to get away from and practice some self control. I still have problems with it as well, but I am getting better at it. Try keeping some snacks that are healthy in the kitchen if you really need something.0

Just eat something like fruit, or veggies or a small bowl of cereal. Don't starve yourself if you are really hungry, eat. But if your just wanting something because your bored, find something else to do lol
Ohh and water!! Had to add that lol0 -
Weirdly enough, caffeine tends to ward off late-night cravings for me. It keeps me awake, but as a college student, I'm usually awake anyways.
Logging my meals and snacks beforehand helps. I always leave a hundred calories for a late night apple munch.0 -
Is there a reason you want to stop eating at a certain time? The prior beliefs about when you eat have all beeb debunked. I eat until wee hours in the morning and right before i go to bed. I just prefer eating at night. I dont think it has hindered my weight loss at all...0

I just find that if I eat later at night I don't tend to lose much weight or if any, I just seem to kind of maintain my weight where its at. I'll have to try drinking more water I know I am super bad at it. My boyfriend constantly is telling me I need more water lol. Guess its time to listen to him ha ha
Thanks for all the ideas! If I do find I need something I'll go for some veggies or some air popped popcorn sound awesome!0
