I'm giving the ol' weight loss thing another go. I really need to lose about 2 stones but at 46 the process seems to be a lot slower than it was twenty years ago (Damn you metabolism!).

Am a bit screwed for exercise at the moment as I managed to tip hot roast potato fat over my left knee last week so sporting a spectacular (and increasingly itchy) blistered kneecap underneath a big padded dressing...... walking is a bit of an achievement at the moment (can't straighten my leg properly) so actually moving at speed and working up a sweat is unlikely for the next few weeks.

I know that when I get in "the zone" I can lose the weight... problem is it takes about 3 weeks for my body to get used to eating healthy and my willpower usually sees me quitting at about day 10. My love of vodka and vino (not together) doesn't help either... am determined to be on the wagon for at least a month......

But I wonder if any of you out there have top tips or cunning strategies that work and that you're willing to share.... All advice extremely gratefully received.

Happy 2013
