So I did the dry sauna today at the gym for about 20 mins (killing time before my bro was ready to leave)....what is the benefit or point of the sauna? Is it just to lose water weight through sweating?

I find taking a sauna after a hard workout to be very relaxing. That's why I do it, it just feels good to me. I drink a ton of water while I am in the sauna so that I don't get dehydrated.

I like a sauna because it just feels good. I suppose it clears out your pores.

Using a sauna cleanses the pores and increases your metabolism and heart rate. Drink plenty of water during and/or after using the sauna or you will dehydrate.

Sauna is for relaxing and washing up. I don't believe it'll help much with weight loss, otherwise there would be no fat Finns... ;)
