...a coach must lead by example!

I'm a diving coach and former collegiate diver.
Desk jobs really get the best of you once you get into the 'real world', especially in IT. Anyone have any suggestions for someone who has fallen out of shape and gotten back into shape while working a boring desk job all day?
When I was in college, training was life. Taking up almost 6 hours a day - sometimes more - I was in great shape. I want to get back to that feeling and get rid of my tummy so I can show divers exactly what it means to be dedicate to something and work hard to achieve it. I'd love to get back to my former diving weight!
Anyhow - that's why I am here. I'm posting to try and hold myself a bit more accountable.

Log all your food. See where you need to improve and slowly, you'll be more conscious of what you eat. Exercise - I would recommend doing a combination of weight training and cardio. But overall..find what works best for you.
If you want, check out this link by MFPer Heliotsdan - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12
It'll give you a detailed walkthrough (with pictures even) on finding your TDEE and calculating what you should be eating.
Also, if you are worried about the calorie intake, I also suggest you read this thread that has numerous people who met their goals and are maintaining. Some for years and they also provide their calorie intake and how often they work out.
