Unattainable goal?

My goal is to lose 57 lbs by the end of july, is this an unattainable goal?? right now i am not doing much excercise aside from my work. Which keeps me on my feet and moving for 7.5 hours a day. I am working at keeping a 1200 calorie count a day. I have recently gained 10 pounds back that i had lost a few months ago, so now i am getting back at counting and being very strict about it. What do you think??

It's definitely pushing the boundary of healthy (8 lbs per month). If that's all the weight you have to lose you'll need to slow down your weight loss toward the end so that will draw it out a bit more. Why the time limit? I'd say just set a reasonable calorie goal, get moderate exercise, and don't stress about the time frame.

I agree that's too fast if you want to keep it off. 5 pounds a month is tough enough. But I wish you the best of luck regardless.

if everything goes perfect then yes it is. Realistically 1-2 lbs a week (48 lbs). It depends how hard you want to work at it. Then I would ask do you only want to lose the weight for a special function or do you want to make a healthier lifestyle change? My 2 cents.

Why the big rush? You didn't gain that weight overnight... the slower you lose it, the more you learn and the longer you are likely to keep it off. 1200 is VERY low and can possibly mess up your metabolism long term. I'd suggest setting your goal to a 1 pound loss per week and taking the year to lose that weight. You'll probably be more successful overall and it's more realistic.
  • I think one of the biggest issues with weightloss is our desire to get immediate gratification. It has always been my issue, if I can't be where I want to whenI want to then what's the point?? Well, I have learned that is just not the way it is going to work. The other poster is correct although it seems like it we do not gain overnight. I say shoot for your goals but do it the healthy way if you meet it great if not so what....as long as you are doing your personal best then you are WINNING
