I found an interesting website called dietbet.com and you bet against yourself on a challenge. The challenge is always the same, except the date started and price per challenge can be different. The idea is you bet against yourself to help motivate you.
Anyone can join the challenge, you can sign up for an account, use your Facebook or Twitter account as well. You choose a challenge, pay the bet, and try and lose 4% of your starting weight in a 4 week time frame.
You take a picture of your scale with the word for the challenge in the photo as well as a photo of you on the scale.
It is not a winner take all pot, so if everyone makes their 4% weight loss, then everyone gets their money back, but if some don't make the 4% or fall off the wagon, everyone else shares the pot.
I set up a challenge that starts on Jan. 16th and runs until Mardi Gras day, Feb. 13th.
The bet is $25. I think having money on the line keeps me focused on losing the weight and not falling off the wagon.
