I signed up for this as an extra push in the right direction as i am going to do the race for life in july. I am not a big drinker so its pretty easy for me but every little helps both for me and the excellent cause. I got a pack through the post with a wrist band to wear and sponsor form and a few other bits and bobs.

Fancy a brand new fundraising challenge this New Year?

Kick-start your preparation for the next Race for Life and help save even more lives this January. Join the nation’s first Dryathlon™: give up alcohol for January and raise money for Cancer Research UK. New Year’s resolutions are looming, so why not start 2013 by knocking that glass of wine on the head for a month? This is your chance to feel fitter, wealthier and help us to beat cancer sooner!

Find out how much that vino is really costing you in calories / pounds and become a Cancer Research UK Dryathlete: www.dryathlon.org

I'm giving up for at least 6 weeks, but can't start till after Saturday as having a big send off for a close friend since she is going back to Kenya for a few months. After that will be sticking to it big time as gave up for 5 months last year, but not sure if it counts if I don't start till then?
