I usually google search for a low fat muffin recipe then I sub the oil for unsweetened applesauce and sub the sugar for splenda and I only use about half what it calls for. I also use whole wheat flour instead of white. It still gives me about 110 calories per muffin but much better for you. Try to find one that has only about 5 ingredients.0

take this recipe for example

I noticed that it has baking powder twice, only use 1tsp
I would use all wheat flour and no white
honey instead of brown sugar, or a mix of honey and splenda
low fat milk or almond/soy/rice milk instead of buttermilk
and sub the oil with more applesauce.
This one looks a little better but still needs a few substitutions.

another thing you can do is to make the muffins slightly smaller to make the calories less.0
