Need advice to stay on track long haul, plz.

Hi all i have just joined today and am hoping that 2013 will be my slimmest success yet. so as i posted in the intro section about being motivated but in order to loose a good few stone then does that mean life needs to go on hold? eg no eating out and no alcohol? I have been told i have a low metabolism due to my hormone imbalance issue i have so i find that if i am good most of the week and then my Husband wants a night out i.e meals and drinks then i can't see a good result on the scales unless i have been 100% the rest of the week i.e no bottle of wine on a friday night then a meal or drinks on Saturday. So how have you all still had a life and done well with bigger weight losses? All advice and tips please xx
