Home made soup

Hi There,

I have a bit of a dilemma, My husband made some turkey/ham soup from leftovers from Christmas, however he is kinda upset with me since i won't eat it as i don't know how to log it as i have no clue what is all in it etc. I was at work when he made it. I had a couple spoonfuls of it and it was yummy, i just don't want to eat it since i don't know all the calories etc...

Any suggestion so i can have some and make him happy??

Thanks in advance!!

Yes. Put it in as turkey soup and log the chunks of ham as extra. You'll see lots of different 'homemade turkey soups'. Pick one with the calories in the middle. You may be off a lot on salt, but I doubt you'll be horrible on calories.

There will be many, many, many things you can't log exactly. You have to do the best you can. It is more important (and harder) to accurately measure portions.

I would eat a bit. Tell him how yummy it is and go from there as to what might be in it so you can create a recipe. You surely know kind of what he put in? If it is really think and you think he put the oyster dressing in it then cut it with some broth maybe. Best to not upset the spouse over a small battle.

Thanks for the suggestions, i'm just really "anal" so to speak about my calories. fat. protein sodium.... I guess i can try and figure out what he put in it, i know there is potatoes and corn and i think spinach as well! I just wish when he cooked he would right things down for me to figure out later, but he doesn't he just throws things in and never measures anything either!!

Drives me nuts since i am trying to get back in to logging EVERYTHING and losing this weight again !!!
