Google is your best friend for these sort of questions ... :)

There are a number of sites like the American Heart Association that have good low sodium recipes. In addition to my site at http://www.lowsodiumcooking.com I also like the following ones.

    Sodium Girl - http://www.sodiumgirl.com/
    The Daily Dish - http://thedailydish.us//
Low Sodium Adventures in Cooking - http://lowsodiumcooking.blogspot.com/

Good luck with cutting back on sodium. You'll feel better for it

Also, double check that "light" product. They usually jack up the sodium to make up for the lower calories/fat. I've gone back to eating a lot of non light and non fat free items because of that.

    the gracious pantry is amazing

Also, checkout Ms. Dash's line of seasonings. They are all salt free and very flavorful. I usually flavor my food with other foods. Tomatoes are my fave.

What I have learned is that whole, unprocessed foods are low in sodium. Pretty much all prepared food is high in sodium. One exception that I have found is Great Value Lasagna which is in low sodium and high in potassium due to the addition of potassium chloride, the same thing as salt substitute. Potassium helps regulate sodium and vice versa. Too much or too little of sodium and potassium is unhealthy, balance is healthy.

I lowered my sodium not with special recipes, but via certain practices.

First I lowered my MFP Sodium goal to 1800 mgs
    "MY HOME" select "GOALS"
    Then, "CHANGE GOALS"
    Then, "CUSTOM" & "CONTINUE"
    Then "CHANGE GOALS".

Avoid canned food if possible, buy fresh or frozen veggies.
If using canned veggies first rinse with fresh water.
Limit processed meats such as cold cuts, bacon, sausage, & cured meats.

Watch out for canned tomato/spaghetti sauce!

Use Salt Substitute (potassium), Dash, Lemon, or Vinegar

Stay far away from restaurants, especially fast food. Many burger and fries combination will put you knocking on the door to the RDA of 2500mgs. Always request no salt, you would be surprised at how many restaurants can accommodate your request.
