Polar!! Any kind that's within your budget. They have a variety. Very reliable.

It all depends on what you want to do with it. What ever you get make sure it has a chest strap. Polar is the brand that I recommend.

I've had Polar and now use Garmin. Both HRM were easy to use. I didn't like the chest band at first, but I got used to it. A HRM is definitely more accurate than MFP or the machines to the gym.
