HELP!!

Help! I've hit a "plateau" with my weight loss and can't seem to lose any more without seriously cutting my calories. Any ideas or suggestions?!

  • At 5'4" and 109lbs, I think your body is telling you its time to stop. You look beautiful right now. What makes you think u need to lose 4 more pounds?

I agree.. I am 5'4 and know that 109 is even below the recommended ideal weight. Maintain and enjoy.

it depends on how long you have been stuck at the same weight. i was the same for about 3 months. tried a bunch of stuff i read on here...mixed up my exercises, didn't exercise, ate whatever i wanted for two or three days, ate as little as i could for two or three days. just read a post where someone suggests an ice cold glass of water right when you wake up. who knows what works, and what works for one, might not work for another. based on your picture, it doesn't look like you have any to lose, so it'll come off slowly. my advice would be to really look at your diary. check your sodium, mine was way over before i started tracking it. and sodium levels effect water weight. i also increased my water. felt like i was going to drown. but the scale finally budged.

i know how frustrating it is, especially if you have been the same for a while. change some stuff up. change what you eat, which exercises you do. you need to shock your body.

    good luck.

Adjust your macros. More protein, less carbs and fats. Add in a new exercise and/or vary your workouts. If this doesn't work, eat less/move more.

Don't cut back any more. I've done serious damage to my body from Ed's and thinking that cutting calories will make you lose. If you have vigorous workouts and are not fueling your body, you won't lose any more, you'll actually gain a load of water weight! Please don't cut the calories or you will sabatoge your weight loss. Trust me, I am trying to bring my body back to where I use to be at a ripped 119. Plus eating is fun and you should enjoy it if you work for it :)
  • Excercise changes will help. You need to challenge your muscles and you will burn calories and break the plateau. Example if you run now is time to try cycling or zumba, if you walk on tread mill you need to add intensity like 3min run then walk. change the routine by adding spurts of intensity and or completely doing something new.
