The elliptical is the primary piece of cardio equipment I use at the gym and we also have one at home. I like it because of the reduced impact on your joints versus a treadmill. I also like that you can use your arms as well as legs. If you get one I'd suggest getting a decent one that has a heart rate monitor, static handles in addition to the oscillating handles, and that has preset workouts. If you have the money and really want to get a good one, get one that also has and adjustable stride. Those are awesome.0

I think they are awesome. What I use 95% of the time. As someone stated already though, the different brands and "styles" feel different and have different strides. I've been on four or five styles and only two felt comfortable and not awkward. If at all possible try them out before you buy to see which one feels the most natural.0
