a coworker brought in some chocolate covered grapes (if you're in the northeastern Ohio area they're Malleys, ) I have about 400 calories budgeted for snacks today, and I want to have some (well I already had one :blushing: ) I cant find any nutrition info on them... anyone have any guesses?

That sounds sooooo good!
Maybe log the grapes and chocolate separately? Seems like that would be easier to log....0 -
I grew up in Ohio and totally forgot about Malleys chocolates........
I think I was better off that way! I LOVED their turtles and carmels.....oh man......
ETA: Holy Crap! I just looked at your profile - I grew up in Elyria! Small world!0 -
depending how many you want, go to the food data base and bring up the number of regular grapes you will have and then figure the amount of chocolate.....say 10 grapes with 1/8 or 1/4 cup chocolate?0
-
Try googling the grapes, see what you find.
I love Google...how did I function without it?0 -
Elyria... My husband is from Polk0

I moved after my freshman year of high school.....almost 14 years ago (YIKES!).......my grandparents are in Wakeman and all of my mom's family (10 brothers & sisters) are scattered around from Toledo through Akron. I moved to IN and my whole school was the size of my entire freshman class in Elyria (I went to Midview) - talk about being in the sticks! But, I live in MI now - due to my husband - the things we do for our men  .0 -
ok I found one thing that said there are 225 grapes in a pound of grapes (I found the same recipe that drvvork posted and it said one bunch or lb of grapes) (at least I think it was the same recipe...) so according to that recipe there's only about 8 calories per grape? that sounds too good to be true...0

Fitness Magazine rates this combo as being around 150 cal. so hope this helps.
Chocolate-Covered Grapes: Melt ¾ ounces dark chocolate and stir in ½ cup seedless grapes until coated. Place on waxed paper and refrigerate for 15 minutes, or until set.
I have made these, and they are fantastic0 -
My co-worker just told me a recipe she makes for grapes that sound scrumptious and probably less calories than chocolate covered.
She said to buy red or purple grapes with raspberry fat free jello powder mix. Shake up the grapes in a plastic bag with the fat free raspberry jello powder and refrigerate overnight. In the morning - yummy. She said it tastes like candy but your eating fruit. YUM!
I think I am going to try that soon!0 -

lol yeah thats what i did to come up with the 8 calories per grape (found a few sites that said a bunch=1lb and a few other sites that said that there are about 225 grapes in a lb so I divided the 1,678 and got like 7.something or other... that sounded too good to be true though so I'm sure its wrong...0 -
I make these at home all the time!!! My mom got some as a gift years back a store at a mall in central Ohio and they are so good! They are expensive though, and the store ones do have extra chocolate on them....so I make my own and dip them in the 70% coco dark chocolate.0
