Good morning . I'm new to MyFitnessPal . I struggle strongly w/ depression an weight so how do you guys beat depression ? I need tips quotes anything to get me really motivated and started .

Depression and weight gain go hand and hand. You need to figure out the root of the problem. Then slowly work on it.0

Have you sought help from a mental health professional? That would be step 1, imo.0

Honestly, exercise helps a lot. I also find when I'm eating whole, clean foods I'm less prone to depression. Both of these things make it easier for your body to regulate your hormones. Obviously if your depression is severe it takes more than that (medication, therapy, a good support system), but you tackle weight loss and depression together with diet and exercise. Firstly, don't assume you'll ever 'beat' it. It's still there in some form and what you need to learn to do is manage the amount of depression you have in smaller chunks. Allow yourself to feel blue sometimes, but know when it's too much for you to handle.
I found working out helped a lot. The more weight that came off, the more movements I was able to complete, the more people I met on similar paths, the more I watched what I ate...everything adds up and now I still have days where I don't have a complete handle on my emotions, but you know what, that's okay by me. The more I let go of control, the easier it is to say 'I'm depressed today, but tomorrow will be better', and usually, I'm right.0
