How'd you come up with your screen name?

T'was many moons ago, at the "Cozy Inn", a bar near Little Creek Amphibous Naval Station in Norfolk VA. I was a cute young sailor - she was,,, not. Time is kind to some of us, but it had not been kind to her.

I was first repulsed, then intoxicated, then intrigued. As the draft PBR flowed, I became more interested. Fortunately (or unfortunately, who knows? The heart wants what it wants),,, fortunately a cadre of my naval compatriots carried me to the bed of a nearby pickup truck and hauled my inebriated butt back to the ship - effectively cancelling my night with Wendy.

    My original screen name was my name and birth year. Uninteresting.

    This name represents rising from the rising and becoming myself, completely anew. When life burns to the ground, rise from the ashes and fly above the moon. That's my opinion on it.

    My nickname, Faerie, been called that since I can remember, my grams who raised me always said I looked like a little Faerie, now my husband calls me Faerie Face! The two 8's, ironically both my husband and mine's lucky number....

    I join MFP in Dec. of 2009, and decided that 2010 will be the year I'm getting healthy. Plus... it rhymed. :laugh: I've considered changing it to something a little more personal -- a variant of my name. <shrug> :wink:

    I usually go by Mande Gray (or some variant) online (not my real surname -- works for 'net anonymity though.)

    My screen name has been with me since '95... they wanted a screen name for an animal network and it had to have more than 4 letters... *sigh*... I worked 7 days a week on call 24 hrs a day and people jokingly called me Doc at work so, since Dr Work didn't work it became d r v v o r k ... it also became a double nickname as I once made a snide remark to a board member that I felt like a Dr. Kevorkian prodigy... I am a CET (Certified Euthanasia Technician) and felt I was euthanizing way too many animals. ((Gee, thinking of some of my postings today - I'm just a ball of wonder-fun, huh :huh: ... )) :bigsmile:

    I have used this nickname for quite a few years. Maybe since I went to college - so about 4 or 5 years now.

    There is actually a story behind why I chose BrendaLee though. I've been online for over a decade, and I got tired of screen names. My usual screen name was nicegirlsdotoo...wonder how I came up with that one. lol

    K...just taking this off the post about real names...so I don't have to type it out again...
    I go by MaidOfAstolat because one of my favorite Arthurian legends is about Elaine the fair maid of Astolat. It has also been spelled Shallott (as in The Lady Of Shallott-an Alfred Lord Tennyson poem). It's also my favorite painting (well, all three) by John William Waterhouse.

    Well I absolutely LOVE twilight. I've read all of the books. I've seen all of the movies that have been out so far. My room is COVERED in robert and taylor posters. And I have a 6 foot cut out of rob pattinson right by my bed. So yes, I'm a "twilightfan" and, I'm the #1 fan. I would do ANYTHING to meet them in person. haha.

    I had an event that confirmed in my mind the existence of angels, so had a fascination with them and collected beautiful angel articles for many years. My family got it's first internet connection back in 1999. With trying to find a screen name I ended up with angelwings and 2000 for the coming Y2K. I have used it ever since.

    Mine is currently first initial, last name.

    But I used to always go by bassbonebabe = my instrument is bass trombone and the first four letters of my maiden name is babe (plus you don't find to many female bass trombone players around ;-) )
