I know you can't choose where to burn fat but I thought if you worked a certain muscle group that had a lot of fat on it that the muscle would burn the fat to turn into muscle?? And thanks for the different excersise tips everyone!

    doesn't work that way.
Oh so the muscle just develops under the fat and won't be noticeable until the fat is gone then??

Losing fat is like trying to dry out a sponge. You can't dry a corner when the rest of the sponge is wet.
Love this analogy - may have to borrow it in future!
  • p.s. you dont need to buy the P90X accessories or supplements

a good chin up bar at wal mart called "perfect multi gym" for about $25, some dumb bells and towels for your sweat
Are those the bars that go inbetween doorways??

    better than those

this one allows a wider grip if you need it and just slips on and off the door jamb in seconds

    Thanks!

diet wise.. cut back on cal's, carbs and sugar. eat more veggies and protein!

workout wise.. strength moves. rocky style, crunches, side planks, regular planks, double crunches, reverse crunches, hollow mans, bicycle crunch, get ups, lunges, static poses.. yoga! and of course, lots of people here say to lift heavy. I don't have the equipment and workout at home so I haven't tried that one yet. however, my school has a gym, so I'm going to try it out when classes start in about a week.

Sit ups and planks don't do much. Just count your calories on mfp, burn more calories in the day than you consume (moderate deficit), and you will see your abs soon. It's really simple. You can do all those exercises that people recommend if you enjoy them, but they aren't necessary.

no...they arent necessary for weight loss but you will be a mushy, flabby mess who cant do anything but try on clothes

Losing fat is like trying to dry out a sponge. You can't dry a corner when the rest of the sponge is wet. Moderate calorie deficit and full body strength training (including compound lifts).
omg I love this and am stealing it forever
