Starting to lift again: help!

I remember back to high school playing lots of sports and doing alot of weight lifting for exercise and being able to bench 200lbs+ and being able to do arm curls with dumb bells of 50lbs or more and so on. Now i am 24 and it seems i have a hard time starting out again. Should i gradually work my way up or go with a heavier weight to start until that gets easier and easier? as of now i can barely bench 110lbs 5 times.

right, so start with something comfortable then gradually move up? Can anyone suggest good arm work out i can do at home. My equipment is a bench with adjustable incline, barbell, dumb bells, curl bar, lat machine.

    awesome thanks a lot.
  • And please don't forget other body parts than the bicep and chest :) Too many guys train only what they can see in the mirror. They tend to have big chest and arm muscles and tiny legs and saggy butt. Girls also like firm butts and strong legs!

That said, I think pushups are probably the best chest exercise, and you can do them in all sorts of ways depending on your fitness level. I did elevated feet pushups today and it is great.
