Sorry you are having back problems.
Scooby has some suggestions on dealing with injuries. Not back specific, but principles may help you cope.

The main thing with these type of injuries is to not do anything to make it worse. Maintaining for now is probably your best option with a mild deficit (100-200 cals) to relieve weight impact on the injured area without over-doing it. Exercise must be very light if at all. If you can walk without causing much stress on the back. If not, then there is probably not much you can do. Don't over do whatever you do though.0

Two words I can think of: Quadratis Lumbartis.
Big muscles on each side of the mid back.
When they are over tensed they will pull to the point of tugging a disc out of place (at least temporarily).
You may just have to gut through the pain for now.
But regular yoga is a good preventative.0 -
I have a herniated disc in my lower back, I have pretty much been doing only isolation exercises and avoiding the core stuff. I actually tried doing some light squats but now my back is really hurting so I would say don't rush into it!0
