Aquafit and my hair!

So I love my aquafit class at LA Fitness. I'm doing it several times a week. My hair is suffering. It's color treated and the chlorine is bleaching out my color. I just had my hair done today and my stylist suggested that I comb some conditioner through it before class to help. I don't really wanna wear a cap, but I will if it's the last resort.

Any suggestions?

wet your hair first so that it's saturated with clean water then put the cap on. that should help.

if it doesnt then you're going to have to decide between the pool or bleach.

chlorine + bleach => a chemical process and the only way to 100% avoid that is to rewrite the chemical properties of the elements that exist here on earth

when I use to swim a lot when I was younger, my hair ended up like hay lol I used a product by (i think) Joico that was specifically for protecting against chlorine. It was a leave in conditoner type that you would wet your hair and apply before swimming. Now that was a good 20 years ago but im sure there muse be a product similar now

Any oil- coconut, argan etc, then braid your hair up tightly. I don't like swim caps either and I find this works well

I'll look for the oil, but my hair is fairly short and very fine. It's barely long enough to get most of it in a pony tail. I tried yesterday to not get it wet but then I feel like I'm not exercising up to what I should be. Now I see how the "old ladies" don't get their hair wet, they are doing a more moderate effort in the pool.

I'm gonna go look at some of the lycra swim caps today. I know they won't keep the hair from getting wet, but maybe between the conditioner or oil and the cap, it will lessen the effects of the chlorine.

I broke down and bought a cap. It's not pretty but my hair stays pretty dry.
