Hello! is it not recommended to drink too much water in a day? i drink more 8 glasses a day even before i was in the program because i feel dehydrated. i would just like to clarify if that is just too much and might have an effect on my target weight loss. thanks and your reply is greatly appreciated :-)

I drink upwards of 14 glasses of water a day. My average is 12 glasses every day. It hasn't had a negative impact on my progress. I think the 8 glasses is a suggestion based on the theory that is shoved down everyone's throat, and for some 8 is a daunting number. I think you need to drink as much water as you are comfortable with. I know there is an amount that water can be toxic, but I don't think it's a low amount of water.

The 8 glasses a day is total water consumption. You get water from foods as well. So it is okay when you don't drink 8 glasses

There is a huge variation in the amount of hydration people need to take onboard.
    Some factors:
Heat, humidity, activity, how much you sweat, size, foods you have eaten, sodium intake, exercise etc. etc.

Even two people doing the same activity in the same conditions will vary enormously. I did a 50 mile cycle with a friend and drank four times the amount he did and at the end I was more dehydrated than him.

Better to keep on top of your hydration by the frequency of bathroom visits and colour of your urine. Slightly over-hydrated is better than dehydrated but no benefits in drinking massive amounts of water (or other drinks).
