Queen of the Damned-EXCUSES! No More!

I was the Queen of excuses! Someone would say something and I already had an excuse as to why I couldn't/wouldn't do something physical. My best excuse was that my back hurt. True there really is medical reasons why it hurts but the weight is what is keeping it that way. I'm an emotional eater, so there was always a reason to stuff my face. A bad day, kids drove me nuts, an argument with my mother etc. PMS- translated to an unhealthy excuse to stuff my face with high fat high cal foods. My good ole friends Ben & Jerry were always willing to help the bad day go away. My father had 3 strokes...you would have thought that would have shaken me...it did but only for a couple of weeks and I really didn't change much. My cousin on my dads side has a bad heart and has changed as much as she can but still needs a heart transplant...that should have done it. Nope, not that either! My next door neighbor (who is big too btw) made a snide remark about how big I was and that I was getting bigger! That of all things was the straw that broke the camels back! She and I used to be friends. I have my share of bad eating habits but this chick is in McDonalds everyday! As horrible as it is to say I didn't want to be like her! More importantly I want to run and play with my babies! So now here I am on MFP and I read all these success stories with pictures and see the amazing transformations and I'm in awe! I see people supporting one another, answering food/health/ exercise and even off the wall stuff but its SUPPORT! I am the Queen of Excuses-NO MORE! If anyone has any thoughts/tips/inspiration they would like to share then by all means please do so

I can relate to using any excuse to stick my head in the chocolate box! a phone call from my mother, a brain-melting day at work, a bad night's sleep and too much to do tend to make me want to inhale cake! I have a couple of tips though...
1) if possible, don't have bad stuff in the house!
2) find a healthy treat. mine is over-priced prepared fruit salads. I'm having a treat, as I don't have to spend hours faffing with a melon baller, but it won't hurt my calorie goal.
3) distraction...tell yourself you can have a treat..after cleaning the bathroom, sorting out a pile of washing, emptying the bin.... sometimes the distractions help you forget you wanted something. if not, you've burned a few extra calories before indulging.
good luck!0
