New Girl On The Block & Loving It!!

Hi all, I added this app on my iphone a week ago and have to say it is just about the best thing I have ever done on the healthy eating front!
As I have said on my profile, I have always been a curvy girl and up until having my little girl I learned to embrace my curves (I always looked at the slimmer girls with envy but knew that for me, getting to that size would take more will power and effort than I had to give at the time)
However, since having my little girl 4 years ago, I have found that once I had lost the 'baby' weight my weight has been difficult to maintain at my previous 145-150lbs. My mum is around 196lbs and in her mid 50's - she really finds it difficult to excercise because of her weight and so struggles to 'kick start' her metabolism. This is not the way I want my life to go.
I realised that I need to make some changes now otherwise before you know it I'll be 170lbs, then 180lbs and so on and with each lb gained, I'd get more demoralised and demotivated. The problem is, I love food, hate excercise & find calorie/points counting annoying & boring!
Lucky for me I landed on this amazing app - it does all the hard work for me - it's easy layout allows me to look at several meal options before deciding what to eat and I have managed to stick to my 1200 cals per day quota since I started 4 days ago - so far I have lost 3lbs!!!!!!!
I understand that this weight loss will slow down soon but I am over the moon, and what's better I'm actually not that hungry.
On previous plans I have fallen into the 'eat it first and worry about the calories later' or 'cheat then skip meals to compensate'
Now I plan in advance and find that I am really enjoying it - I'm treating it like a game to never go over my calories. I have found I feel better and less lethargic already so this gets a massive thumbs up from me!!!!!
Hope you are all having good results too - early days for me but I am well on my way towards my 140lb goal! )

Welcome! Great news that you found this gem...I finally caved in to the calorie counting/ food diary plan after years of trying to find a "quick" fix....it doesn't exist, and I kick myself for wasting all those years yo-yoing up and down with every fad diet that came along...I have a lot of ground to cover, so I applaud you for being proactive before you found yourself "out of control" like me...keep us posted and good luck!0

Thanks guys!
I am difficult to motivate and so far this is the most motivated I've been for many years - so hopefully this is the way forward for me. Just weighed myslef this morning & dropped another 2lb (sure it must be water as I can't see how the weight would come off that fast) but even so - it's just adding to my resolve!
Keep up the good work guys!
