Calorie goal

I know this topic has probably been done to death, but how much under your calorie goal is a bad thing?
My goal per day is around 1610 since I'm trying to lose weight. On most days I'm usually between 400-600 under that goal. I always eat whenever I feel hungry, but since I've been working out and eating better for the last two months I don't get as hungry anymore. When I do eat I usually go with vegetables, chicken, salads and fruits. I've cut out a lot of the bad stuff I used to eat. Should I force myself to eat more or am I doing ok?

Just stay aware, keep vigilante.
If you lose sexual drive, vitality, if you lose motivation to hit the gym, if your weightloss plateaus, then you would need to step up and fix asap to stave off metabolic damage. That could take a few weeks of eating back up to and maintaining at your maintenance, till full hormonal balance is restored etc, before attempting to diet again.
So do it if it works, but be careful, also dont plan on severe cut for many months, or the likelyhood of above type problems will go up up up.
Thats my 2cents, I'm not a doctor and this wasnt medical advice.0 -
I'm nearly twice your age and a chick, and I eat more than you do on a daily basis. I'm nearly to my goal weight, so my scale doesn't change much, but I'm still losing fat & inches eating 1700-2000 calories a day.
How much more do you have to lose? Congrats on the first 20 pounds, but you might want to slow down on the loss and eat more to fuel your workouts and your daily activities. At 1610 and coming in 600 under, you're at 1010 calories a day, which is well under the bare minimum for women.
You should at LEAST be netting your BMR every day - the amount you'd burn just laying in bed all day - how much more do you think your body needs (and deserves!) if you're walkin' & talkin', and exercising on top of that?

Great info there and I bet you'll find that you should be eating quite a bit more, probably even more than 1610 per day. Food is fuel - stay too low for too long, and you'll burn out.0
