Struggling College Student

Hey everyone! I'm Shelby, and I'm 20. I've put on a lot of weight since entering college two and a half years ago. I'm at the highest weight that I have ever been. It is time to make a big change.
My hardest part is going to be staying motivated. When everyone around me is stocking up on unhealthy foods, making sure I stick to a diet and weight loss plan is going to be a big struggle. I really hope that with this program, and maybe a few friends I will pick up along the way, I will manage to make this a long-term and successful change.
Nice to meet you all!

Hi Shelby! Nice to meet you. I'm Jen, turning 19 in a matter of days actually.
I TOTALLY get what you're saying! I was having a really rough time for almost a year now, and I've put on weight that I've never had before. I am also at my highest weight, and I want to change that. I've been complaining for years now about my weight, and only sometimes did I try to do something about it - however, without support and motivation, I always ended up off track of my healthier lifestyle.
I have 3 roommates and just recently did one of them and myself decide we're going to help eachother with our fitness goals. It's still a challenge, though, but it's gotten alot easier in some ways with a friend along for the journey.
I have high hopes of the tide changing in my (and all of ours) favor with the help of this awesome site
[Oh, and I also made an account recently with HabitForge.com and it in my opinion goes hand in hand with MyFitnessPal for me. They send me daily emails to help keep me on track and I'm loving it.]
It's very nice to meet you as well ^_^0 -
Hi Shelby and Jen! I'm Justin, just turned 21 last December. I can totally relate to you guys. The biggest weight gain I had was at my 1st-2nd year of college. It was hard but later on I took matters at my own hands and started working out and being more conscious with my diet. Just always remember not to be afraid of food. What usually happens is that when we start in doing this change we tend to be more conscious in a bad way. Remember, you can still eat the stuffs that you like, just in moderation. You can even look into your macros if it still fits in. If it does then go ahead and please yourself once in a while.
Its gonna be very hard but its gonna be a lot better if you treat it as a new lifestyle as most "diets" tend to be short-lived. I'm gonna add you guys up so we can help each other stay motivated.0
