The Most Important Thing You Have Learned From MFP

I have learned that I have the greatest group of friends ever!!! but i kinda knew that from the beginning.0

I learned that I am an above-average speller.
And that there are startling numbers of people that don't know the difference between your and you're, too and to, loose and lose, there and their and they're, etc.
And the difference between then and than, weigh and weight and weighed. It's amazing how many people can't spell protein (protien) even though it's one of the macros MFP has listed on the daily logging chart.0 -
that tasting everything that i am cooking adds up...that i CAN exercise and LOVE it...and that after all of these years...i CAN run!!0
-
Being more consistent!!!!:bigsmile:0

That I will probably have to keep track of food intake forever in some method or means. When I had done WW in the past I did well as soon as I stopped logging/keeping track the weight came back on, something about seeing it and planning it works wonders for me.
I know I have learned tons in my 5 months here but that is absolutely first and key for me.0 -
I learned that grain based foods have a LOT of calories and aren't very satisfying. I eat very few grain based foods these days.0
-
that when people lose any amount of weight, they also automatically become qualified marriage counselors, fitness instructors, nutritionists and are able to immediately diagnose eating disorders based on a stranger's single statement
Well, sometimes untrained experts do get it right. Too much time in a structured education environment will close the mind to outside possibilities. Outside the box thinking is lacking in academia.0 -
I learned some basic HTML coding, and how to find and utilize the snarkiest gifs.0
-
That you are not supposed to correct someone that says, "I can't loose wait"
So, I've decided that I just simply do not respond to those people because honestly, I really don't know what they are trying to communicate.0 -
That honestly logging your food daily leads to successful weight loss
That many of the most successful people have a photo of themselves walking/running a 5K (with a huge smile on their face). They also realize that diets are temporary and a waste of time, money and effort. Success only comes when you love yourself at whatever weight you are and live the rest of your life eating healthy most of the time and exercising most days of the week.
That most all of the unsuccessful people are trying to lose weight for someone else or some special event in the future. They also berate themselves, hate themselves and believe that once they get skinny, all their problems will vanish and they'll live happily ever after.0 -

What's the most important thing you have learned on MFP? Mine is that you don't have to starve yourself to lose weight! Actually, it's much better if you don't!
Yeah same here! It's so much fun eating more and still losing weight0 -
dedication and consistency was the key for me!0

Track. Track. Track for success.
If you track, you'll lose weight because you're more aware of what you're eating!0 -
That it's necessary for your sanity to take a break from the boards at times, in fact as often as needed and if need be use the ignore feature as much as necessary.
Seek out friends that have some of the same values in health and fitness and create a group and live happily ever after!
Main board Tolerance...though I'm still working on this one...see above for taking board breaks..
That there are no stupid questions, only rude ppl that reply impatiently with insensitive responses toward them.
That everyone on MFP has something great within them, we may never see it on the boards but I do believe it's there though I would pay to see it on the boards from some members
I've learned that bullying on MFP is very ugly & unnecessary.
So much more but I'm off to shovel slush so I'll end here.
Cheers all for a fantastic day all and for treating others the way we'd like to be treated in life!!:drinker:11. Everyone here is mean0 -
That people are overwhelmingly dumb and gullible. And to fear for society if MFP is representative of society at large0
-
Don't talk about the mods in forums0
-
There are other people out there with the same struggles I face.0

That no matter what you post, somebody is gonna read it wrong, read it partially, not read it at all, not comprehend it....but reply anyway lol0

Plus, that starvation mode may or may not exist, OK it does exist but only if you're____ and doing _____, and for everyone else it's not real, unless it is...real.0 -
I learned that I'm more likely to stick to achievable targets on a daily basis.
If I set myself on 0.5lb per week loss then I'm much happier.
I really, really want to lift heavy.
Muscles are my friends but fat isn't always my enemy.0
