I quit smoking 4 years ago and went through menopause at the same time (not a good idea in hindsight). I work as a horticulturalist so my job is pretty physical. I'm laid off every winter. Last winter I road my stationary bike 6 days a week for 45 minutes. I lost 2 lbs. I watched my food intake, but didn't count calories and didn't cut out wine.
Now I'm going to try counting calories and see if I've been fooling myself. I got a new scale yesterday and was shocked at a weight of 205. My old scale read 165! I came here when I saw a Christmas picture of me on Facebook. I want to get back in a size 12 which is probably about 50 pounds.
I'm finding that I can eat my normal daytime diet. My downfall was having a glass or two of wine at night and then a little snack.
Is the first week the hardest?
