Whole v. 2% milk

According to the nutrition info on this site, whole milk has less cholesteral and sugar than 2% milk, and the same calories. Does anybody know if this is true? I've heard that whole milk is more satisfying to the system. If the numbers are better, I'll switch to whole milk.

I would do some of your own investigating regarding the nutritional content beyond this websites database. Entries are too likely to be incomplete / incorrect.
As far as it being more satisfying, I believe that comment is because whole milk has a higher fat content than 2% milk. Fat is likely to satiate you longer than the other macronutrients. Try them all..pick which one you like the best. If I'm dieting down, I'll switch to skim, 1% or even almond milk. If I'm trying to gain or maintain my weight I'll use 2% or whole.0 -
I don't know about that. The nutrition that I found said 2% had 120 cal and 11g sugar per cup and whole had 150 cal and 12g sugar per cup. Honestly, I don't like whole milk, because it feels very thick to drink. I grew up on 2%, and I have since switched to 1% (110 cal per cup) and .5% (100cal per cup). I can only handle skim if it is with something, like cereal. To drink it by itself is awful in my opinion.0

I think it depends on serving size and/or the maker of the milk. Whole milk has more fat (4%) and more cholesterol. Less sugars. This is comparing the labels on my babies whole milk vs. my 2%. It defiantly has more calories because of the fat content.
I guess it depends on what macros are important to you.0 -
I think we'll be switching from 2% to whole milk in my house. It tastes better and it's not that much higher in calories. I don't very often drink a big glass of milk, anyway. Apparently, it also has more nutrients.0

I personally drink whole milk all the time. I'm not obsessed over a few extra calories or a bit of fat. I don't drink a ton of milk anyway. My absolute favourite milk is fresh, whole milk. My boyfriend's cousins have dairy cows so they always have fresh milk (and cream and butter) around. It's awesome....0

Milk calories vary by brand. Check your labels next time you're in the grocery store.0

Wow, thanks everyone. Who knew different brands of milk have different calories? Personally, I stick w/ organic. I'll check the labels.0
