I am new and ready to improve

My name is Kari. I have been struggling with my weight my entire life. I am 22 years old and at my highest weight I was 230 pounds...unacceptable. I have since lost 20 pounds, another 80 and I am at my goal weight. There are many people in my life who say I should just get used to the fact that I am big and always will be. I am doing this not only for me but to prove all of those negative people wrong.

    First off, Congrats and welcome!

Secondly, DO NOT listen to those people that say you should accept a body that you aren't happy with! That is horrible advice! My heaviest was 252 pounds. I started my weight loss journey in Jan of 2011 and I now weight 127 pounds. I had the people telling me the same thing. That I didn't have a "skinny" body and should accept being big. I loved proving them wrong!

Keep it up and think of those words when you're working out. Let those words motivate you, and be sure to keep them updated on your progress! Show them how wrong they are!
