Women safety

I had an encounter with a very creepy man tonight. Unsure if he was following me I pulled up a street and turned around just to be safe. I felt dumb for doing so till as I was driving back out I saw his truck pulled up the street. Knowing he would have to go all the way up the hill to turn around I went up a 2nd street and hid from him in a driveway of a house with lights on and turned my lights off. I live in the country without a police station nearby to drive to. I waited for a while and no one came up the street. When I felt secure I drove home keeping an eye out and hid my Jeep in the garage. I then took out my canceled weapon out and walked to my house and called the police.

To all the women out there PLEASE be careful and always have a plan and a way to protect yourself. It never hurts to take a wrong turn once in a while just to make sure no one is following you. I have heard of this type of stuff but never had or thought it would happen to me. I am a kind person and trust people more than I should, I always have. Over a year ago I took the class for my CCW permit to mostly learn more about guns. My hubby had bought a shot gun for the house and I wanted to know everything I need to know. I have been training and learning as much as I can. A few months ago I started carrying all the time after a few local incidents occurred. Guns are not for everyone but have something to protect you with whether it be a stun gun Pepper spray or mace. If you chose to use a spray buy 2 and use one to practice with. Know how it works and think of how you will use it. Always be aware of your surroundings and ready for anything.

People can be terrifying! Glad you're safe.

My friend shared a smart idea on facebook - it doesn't necessarily apply in this situation, but I've had my apartment broken into in the past and I pretty much froze. Anyway: keep your car keys by your bed, so if someone breaks in, or you're in any kind of dangerous situation in the middle of the night, you can just hit the panic button. It'll attract attention! I never would have thought of that.
