Shakes?

Well, everyones been telling me about Herbalife shakes and how they really work..etc..
That's great and all.. but do they? ontop of that.. are there any actual other shakes that post the same results? I have considered trying the Biggest Loser shakes but wasn't sure. I don't want to waste my money on something that I'm not sure works.

I've came back for my weight loss mission and I just want to know if there's anything for that extra kick. A lot of you are using shakes/supplements.. when you took it did you notice a faster speed for weight management/loss?


What products would you recommend? If any?

    I would recommend a food scale and perhaps a gym membership.

    Herbalife is nasty, and not nearly as nutritious as they will try to sell you on. I agree with the post above me. The only shake you should drink for health is your protein shake after you hit the weights!!

    I use protein shakes just to make sure i'm getting enough protein in each day. I don;t feel any energy from them but they are filling. for a pre-workout boost i find that Beta-cret (i like pineapple flavor) works pretty well to pump me up more during workouts.

    I would love nothing more than to join a gym, but unfortunately I can't because no gym is walking-distance from me. :( Otherwise I would join in a heartbeat. But I just do home-workouts. :)

    I just wanted to know if there's an extra "oomph" I can get. So many people recommended me the products but I just wasn't sure. <3
  • I drink a protein shake for breakfast... BUT I always add fruit, milk, peanut butter, etc. to make it more of a meal. For me, it's just quick and easy and I can drink it in the car on my way to work! I try to make the shake out to be between 300-400 calories so it really IS a meal. I personally LOVE the Herbalife Protein powder, I think it's really tasty. But, it can be expensive and you have to order it since they don't sell it in stores. It also has a much lower protein content then a lot of other powders out there. I have switched to using Garden of Life Raw Protein Powder and am really pleased with it!

    It is all about eating less calories than you are expending. Herbalife shakes, in place of meals, cuts your calories back. But, so does portion size with the food you love already. What happens when you lose the weight and ditch the shakes? Get back o your old weight? Train yourself to portion better and adopt better food choices that you can live with, and that will do best for you getting and staying where you want to be, in my opinion.

    I added a protein shake to my breakfast, because I needed higher protein intake. And, I am drinking a night-time protein shake (I concoct them into meals, except the AM one, it is in water). My post w/o shake is an insane nutrient dense power meal made with a lot of real food and a scoop of protein!

    Sometimes people recommend a product because they get paid to do so via MLM. Shakes do not induce weight loss. None of them do.

    Calorie deficits cause weight loss. If you drink a shake that is 250 calories but it replaces a meal that would have been 700 calories, you could assist your weight loss this way. But you need to realize that:

    A) the calorie deficit caused the weight loss, not the shake.
    B) you can create a calorie deficit with whole foods.
  • I've been using Metabolic Reset shakes for breakfast. I drink them with milk. I like them but you really need to shake them up. Very good if you are on the go in the morning.
