I can't seem to even be in the same house as a dessert!

Hi, I'm not new, but this is my first ever board post. I just need some motivation for tomorrow.
I baked a cake tonight (used a boxed mix, but substituted with applesauce for oil), and I ate a lot of it. I mean a lot! I tried wrapping it in foil and shoving it in the fridge, but I found myself going back into the kitchen over and over again, and eating more and more cake!
UGH!
I have not been able to be around sweets in almost 8 months (since the exact day that my youngest son was born), and I'm sick of it!! I'm so used to being able to eat a cookie or two, and then leaving the rest alone, and now I can't.
someone, give me a swift kick in the pants, please?

You know what I do?
I tell my boyfriend how much I'm going to eat of something (if it's like fudge or cake) a day, and tell him to get really disappointed in me if I eat more than I said I would.
It works, because people being disappointed in me is worse than anything in my mind :x0 -
Hi,
I definitely don't think you need a kick. We have all been there! For myself it took years of failure to finally realize somethings. So my first question is why'd you make the cake? Not judge but was it for a birthday or special event? If not one suggestion I would give is that you save a slice for yourself, your child and your hubby and throw the rest away. I do this a lot and I do not look at it as wasting food because its just junk food. The second thing I will ask is are you giving yourself any cheat meals and is your diet to strict? For years I tell you I would go on these strict diets lose weight then BINGE and gain all the weight back. I finally realized a few months ago that I no longer had to diet! This was the first Holiday season that I did not gain a single pound (I lost about 20 lbs). I still had sweets but I ate right. I am no longer on a diet. What I do now is eat in a way I can deal with for the rest of my life. I still stick to my calories but I try to eat most of my heavy carbs in the morning. I love bread so instead of having a sandwich in the evening I will just have toast right after my workout in the morning. I'm was literally addicted to PB&J sandwiches so now I eat a small amount of Peanut butter on rice cakes. If I want to have a slice of cake I have it. But it has to be before 3 or 4PM so I still have time to burn it off. So I am not sure what your diet consist of but you don't have to give up sweets or all the food you like to lose weight because your just going to go crazy. You just have to learn not to over do it. So like I said bake a cake if you like but only keep a slice or two and throw the rest away. That way you have your sweets but your guaranteed not to over eat (but no sweets everyday :-).
Oh lastly are you using a good protein shake? I use Triple Whey Chocolate ice cream from Max Muscle. It is the best thing I have ever tasted in my life. You don't have to use this one but the reason why I'm mentioning it is when I have a bad craving for junk (I still do) and its late at night I will just have one of those mixed with water. I get a little bit of sweet but don't damage my body.
Hope this help!0
