Accounting for a blood donation

I thought this topic was way over-the-top, but I have often wondered how my regularly donating a pint of whole blood to the blood center affects my weigh loss progress. I had to lol when I noticed someone created the as a food with 650 negative calories. After doing some googling it seems there is some validity to entry, but that there are some arguments against it.

So what does everyone think? Do you/would you enter a blood donation in your food diary, or account for in another manner?

Dave

I don't log it, but I then don't log my post donation snack either :-)

    Good question!

I donate regularly, doesn't seem to affect my weight loss one way or the other. I don't log the donation in any way, I do log the goodies I eat after donating, and I enjoy eating a little more for the rest of the day, because it does seem to leave me a little hungrier than usual.

I wouldn't log it because your body is going to regenerate the blood you lost most likely.....and you won't be accounting for that, right?

It's just fluid. You're not donating fat. Therefore, I never count it as anything. It's hard to resist all the cookies, crackers & snacks offered at the end. Especially when you've given your LIFES BLOOD, for heaven sake. Consider it a philanthropic gesture, not a caloric one.
