Endomondo - accuracy

I use Endomondo to track my exercise - time distance speed etc
I LOVE Endomondo and I love MFP - so not criticising either , but i have noticed it gives very different results for calories
eg today ..
I ice skated 1 hr , 5.46 km - Endomondo said 680 calories , MFP says 515
I cycled 20km, 80 mins .. Endomondo said 732 , MFP says 393 !!
Total Endomonodo 1412, MFP 908. Massive difference. Similar differences experienced walking
I was wondering therefore .... is anyone else experiencing this ? which do you use ? (I use MFP) and is there an independent way to check these to see which is more accurate ?
Thanks in advance for any help !

Endomondo results are always mad! I use an hrm too for my cardio which usually comes in just a little lower than mfp estimates0

Gosh even lower than MFP ?
Maybe I should get a heart rate monitor then !0 -
if im using mfp or endo, i take off 20% for endo, 10% for mfp.0

Endomondo is more accurate than MFP I think, it tracks altitude too so obviously if you're going uphill you will long more calories on there than on MFP. If I run a flat route then the numbers are pretty much the same but if I'm on a hilly route endomono give me a higher reading.0

what about fitbit ? i have just ordered one - is that more accurate ?0

I'm also very interested in this. I've had my doubts about Endomondo's accuracy, and was also looking at a Fitbit to replace it, but wanted some advice before I splashed out. At the end of the day, it's my scales which are more important, but I would like some honest accurate data on my newfound fitness levels ...
Thanks in advance for any replies!0 -
I'm curious too as I did my bootcamp class this morning, MFP says 470 cals, Endomondo says 440 cals and HRM said 374 cals!
I find that rather confusing. Is Endomondo correcting for weather as I know that you burn more cals when exercising in the cold... or do you think it's just a variation in formulae that they use? Also, my HRM only logs as either cycling or running so I'm wondering if it lowered cal count as I didn't run far even though my hr was still showing I was working?
Which cal burn would you use?0
