Success is a great motivator, but question...

Okay. Long story short: I once lost a great deal of weight and have gained back about 3/4 of it and have decided to stop the crazy train and get rid of it for good. Yay.

After my dad passed away in the summer, I packed on the last 45 pounds of what I am carrying from emotional eating and I am done now, It's got to go. So...

On the 1st of the year, I decided to come to MFP and dedicate myself to weight loss.

Today is day 6. I was going to weigh in on Monday and will do an OFFICIAL weigh in tomorrow morning and log it and seeing results just makes me feel even more confident about my journey ahead.

Here is my question...just how much water weight can one obese woman be carrying? LOL. I know that initial loss is typically water weight (although I think those big losses need to be celebrated as well--after all--you have to ditch that too in striving for your overall goal...) I ask because in the past 6 days...I have dropped nearly *15* pounds. And I am NOT starving. While yesterday I fell really short of my calorie goal because of a crazy schedule and big event I had planned and had to run...the rest of the days I have been eating a good amount of calories (at least 1500)....

  • There's no way to really no for sure how much is water weight because it varies from person to person. But if you stick to the diet, the weight loss should start slowing down a bit, and that's when you know you're losing body fat instead of water weight. Good luck! You're definitely on the right path
