Kind of think that says it all, but for walking not running. Kind of like a consumer review post here Thanks

I love my Brooks running shoes and I'm guessing they make specific for a walker too.
You should go to a running or athletic store and ask for a shoe fitting - they will record you walking and suggest the perfect shoe for your gait and desired activity.0 -
I love my Sauconys. I overpronate, and they seem to keep my shins the happiest. I have also had ASICS that were really good.0

Seconded.
What works for me as an overpronator may not be appropriate for you if you have a neutral foot, so you should really get fitted. If you don't want or can't get to a running store, check out the short videos here, which will explain some methods (like the wet-foot test) to determine your pronation needs at home.

I agree!0 -
Well my sneakers are designed for running, but they're super light weight and very comfortable for walking. It's a pair of Asics. I think they cost me about $1250
-
New Balance. Love 'em.0
-
Saucony all the way for walking and running here! I love the Omniglide which resets my over-pronation and makes things pain free. Got some NB for trail walking and running though.0
-
I prefer Asics. But I really think the shoe depends on the person. Everybody's feet and comfort levels are different.0

I have Nike Lunarglides they're awesome. They're $145 on Nike's website but probably cheaper at Footlocker.
I had Nike Free Runs and hated them, they hurt my ankles so badly. Hope this helped!0 -
I swear by asics and I have problem feet. I tried a pair of brooks, hated them. they felt like bricks on my feet. I'd recommend not taking any advice from people here. go to a running/walking store and get fitted. I got fitted at virginia runner.... those places are free (for fittings) and they do gait analysis and all. very worth your time.0

Asics all the way!! I used to wear Nike, then I did New Balance. Now that I switched to Asics I will never go back! I hated my New Balances!0

I wear the same shoes (Brooks Ghost) for running/walking on pavement and the treadmill and I wear different shoes (Montrail Mountain Masochists) for trail running and hiking.
The best advice I can give is to go to a running shop and have your feet professionally fitted. There are lots of good brands, but finding the one that works for your gait and foot type is key!0 -
You should go to a running store and get fitted for your feet. The people will then be able to base what brand of shoe you need on how your feet are and how you step.0

I LOVE my asics! Great trainers! X0

I LOVE my Saucony running shoes. They hold up really well and are wonderful if you have wide feet. Hope I helped! Good luck :flowerforyou:0

Nike Vashon...saved my feet a couple years ago. Would never wear Ryka again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0
-
love my Asics Gel Scram. I use them for walking, jogging, and circuit training. They are very comfortable.0

My favorites for running have been Mizuno and Asics.0

I love the NewBalance. They have a lot of width options from narrow to super wide. They have a good selection of walking shoes too. When I was doing miles and miles of walking a day, I'd go through a pair in about 4 months.. No matter how good a shoe is, it can only handle 300+ pounds for so long. The best thing I did for myself was treat myself to new walking shoes frequently. Fortunately, you can find good prices on NB at a lot of the big shoe stores like Famous Footwear and DSW.0

I agree with going to an athletic shoe store where someone is trained to help you make the selection that best for you. You can try on several pairs of shoes and try them out on a treadmill right in the store. I must have tried on several pairs and finally settled on Nike Pegasus. I've also tried Brooks and Asics, and they're all great shoes. Right now, I'm breaking in a new pair of Brooks Adrenaline GTS.0

I also love brooks.
Thirded on the Brooks, and another add for getting a proper fitting for your specific gait and needs.0 -
As has been stated this is a VERY individual thing. I went to a running store and was fitting and they ended up being some of the worst shoes I've ever owned...FOR ME! I researched my "issues".....overpronation, overweight, walking, etc. I kept coming up with Brooks Ariel. They were pretty pricey so I was hesitant. I looked at New Balance and liked them, almost bought them. Gave in and tried the Brooks Ariel and OMG! If it's possible for a shoe to change your life...it did! I no longer have ANY pain when walking, I can walk much longer, my feet feel AWESOME, the rest of my body aligns better so no more pain in my hips and no more plantar fasciitis pain. All I did was google "walking shoes for overweight, overpronation". Read a billion user reviews and tried them on. While pricey, after having them I honestly would pay TWICE the price...they're that worth it to me! Good luck and I hope you have as much luck with your decision as I had!0

I agree with those who say to go get fitted at a running store. Do some research online to find stores in your area who are well known. The place I go to gives me a few styles to try on and they let me run a bit in them to see how each of them feel. I am not set on a brand personally and often switch depending on what feels best as styles do often change.
Good luck!0 -
This was really helpful as I have wide, flat feet and needed some ideas on comfortable shoes. I"m gonna check out the Asics. I've had Sauconys and currently have some New Balances that i'm wearing that are not too bad. Thanks everyone!0

I run in Nike lunarglide 4 and Saucony Triumph 9. They are "super cushy" and are great for walking around also - like wearing slippers. Not cheap but really deliver for me.0
-
I adored my Propet shoes... can't find them locally anymore, though.0
-
Nike. all day today, yesterday, tomorrow and everyday.0
-
Love my Merrell shoes. Bought them specifically because I used to do walks of about an hour or two each day, and wanted something comfortable for that.0
-
I'd say either go to a running store to be fitted by a professional, or go to a sporting goods store with many different kinds of sneakers and tuck in to try on a ton of different pairs until you find one that you like.
Personally, I like either Brooks or Saucony. Every pair of Asics that I've owned has fallen apart after a month or so of wearing them. I have wide toes but narrow heels and a pretty high arch, plus awful knees. But everyone's foot/body/taste is different.0 -
kelly rippa shoes!! yes she makes shoes and they are light as a feather like wearing pillows. so great.0
