HRM + GPS Suggestions

I'm training for a marathon and want to find a HRM that also has GPS.

I've looked at Garmin's on amazon and they all seem to have fairly low star ratings

I found this one on amazon Ultega NavRun 2K11 but not sure about the brand, I've never heard of it.

Does anyone have suggestions for watches that have worked for them? I want to use it in the gym, too, so I don't want a huge bulky watch (several of the garmin's are HUGE!)

Thanks in advance!

I have a garmin 610 and love everything about it-including the 72 gazillion features I'll never use lol. I like it because it's small enough that I don't look like the terminator wearing it, and the screen shows 4 data elements (you can have multiple pages of stuff if you're into all that) and you customize which ones you want to see. So it's like having your dream display, and it's not any larger than a regular watch (maybe a men's watch but really not obtrusively large or ugly).

It's pricey, but I deserve the best lol. I love it and have no complaints-easy to operate and program and has tons of training features and the gps seems as good as anything else.

Edited cause I suck at proofreading and left off a word.

I also have a Garmin 610, and love it. It is pricey, but I found mine at REI on sale and it wasn't so bad.

thanks guys... 2/2 replies with one watch is pretty telling... found one on craigslist NIB for $200, so we'll see if that pans out!

    I appreciate the feedback

My Garmin 310xt has never failed me.

The only problem I have ever has was with the Garmin HRM straps. The newer soft straps have a short lifespan before they get erratic and need to be replaced. I was using mine around 10 to 12 hours a week which was wearing straps out after around 3 months. I finally got an old style hard strap and haven't had any problems.

I should note that the new soft strap HRM can rub where the actual monitor pushes against the fabric and my skin. Thankfully I found a good lifehack for it...
