Temporarily Immobile :(

Hi All

I recently sprained my ankle pretty bad and am now on crutches. I can't walk on my foot and will need physio.
I've just got back into healthy eating and exercise and have lost 1.4kgs since xmas. I'm terrified I will put this back on since I can't exercise at the moment.
Does anyone have any tips or know what I can do to ensure I don't put the weight back on?
Is there any exercises I can do which doesn't involve putting my foot on the ground??

Also, I'm new to the site (kinda) so looking for some friends

You can do upper body weight workouts while sitting and also crunches. This is what I did when recovering from a hip replacement along with the PT.

There is such a thing as chair based exercise, this is generally for the elderly and those recuperating tho. Don't know if you can get a Flexi-bar where you are, they are pretty challenging and they do show chair/ kneeling variations in some of the DVDs and also offer good e-mail support with 'tame' physiotherapists they can put questions to. You can do a ton of balance work with it longer term, helped me with my weak ankles and poor core stability as well as hardcore 'toning', I liked the results enough to train to instruct it! The couple who sell it in the UK are Aussies - Steve Schiemer and Rebecca Small.
