Anyone else looking forward to not shopping in plus size?

I am so sick of paying double the price, and not getting things i want just because i'm bigger.
In the supermarket i work, they sell clothes, normal and plus size.
The plus size clothes aren't bright or fun, they are made for you to fade into the background.
And as stupid as it is, i just want a nice pair of maroon skinny jeans.
Thats right, skinny jeans, but i think the fact they have skinny in their name is kind of the whole idea.
As soon as i'm say, 4 sizes smaller, i will buy myself a pair, and i will live in them.
I don't want to dress dowdy, unfashionable, or have to pay more just because i like my food.
I can't wait to lose one size, (taking me down to normal shops sizes) and i will embrace everything i've been missinbg out on.
On top of all that, i am addicted to ebay, and things from Japan and china are about £5 a dress, so freaking good, but then only come in a size 10-12, and let's face it, if dieting saves me money on being a fashionista, i'm all for it :)

I was plus size three years ago, that was my first goal to make it out of plus size clothes. I still have a ways to go to get to my final goal, but I am never going back to the plus size again. I manage a clothing store that sells both, and while we do get cute plus clothes in, (even maroon skinny jeans) I am sooooo glad I don't have to feel I need to hide or camouflage my body in boring lifeless clothes.

Keep up the good work! You are going to look amazing in those skinny jeans, I love the look with boots, tunic top and a bright fun scarf. :)

I can totally empathize with you. I was in the same boat a year ago and I can't tell you enough how great it feels to finally wear non-plus sizes. You're right, plus size clothing makes you fade into the background and it was tough for me because it didn't fit my personality or my style. Wearing fashionable cute clothing was huge motivator for me and still is. I'm a size 14 pant/ 12 top...so I have a ways to go still...so I still have those moments where certain outfits still don't look good. So my goal is to be a size 8.

Best of luck to you! I say get those pants you like and hang them in your bathroom or bedroom so you can see them everyday and let it be your motivator. :-) I've done that and it feels great when you're able to fit into them!

I got some lovely coloured jeans from tesco and they do bigger sizes- also ASDA have quite a good range of sizes. I know what you mean though!

I am so with you on this one, since i have had my children I have had to shop in the plus sizes. I used to try to get into the XL just so i didn't have to cross over to the plus sizes but I have finally come to realize that i would rather be comfortable then be miserable and look miserable in something that doesn't fit correctly. I can not wait to buy all the cute clothes i see in the windows.

@ JCP - I totally get the I want that!! And I gotta have them but I refuse to buy off the rack until I hit my goal weight. Right now I just closet exchange my 'big' clothes for smaller sizes. This is the best plan for the frugal, cheap and downright broke girl. I am hoping they'll still be findable when I get down another 10 lbs!

Oh yeah! I live in France and sadly, in most shops, anything over a UK14 is considered "plus size".
Above all, I am looking forward to not buying the first thing that fits me, even if I don't like it. I own a grey, turtleneck jumper that I hate but had to buy because there was nothing else in the shop in XL. I think I will burn it in a few months!

You carry your weight very well. I never would have guessed you're plus size at all!
