Help!

One of the guys at work won a box of quality street and opened them for the office. They are RIGHT beside my desk! They are looking at me begging me to have one. How do you stop yourself in these situations??

I've ran into that situation before, plenty of times in my office...

First - Think to myself about the ramifications of what it would do to my daily and long term goals. Totally not worth it!

Next - Deflect. Something like "Darn, I just ate a huge breakfast" or "It's pretty early in the morning for sugar, maybe later" or "I've tried it before, not a huge fan".

If they persist, just tell them straight up "That's OK, I'm trying to cut back".

    you just don't that simple!
  • That happens here, responses are as follows:

    Marketing department - move them
Legal department - leave them, but get a fruitbowl and fill that next to it

Ha - sales department - what do you do there??
Its so annoying - any time its somebodies birthday or there is something to celebrate, training days etc - out come the chocolates!
One of the girls from accounts took a few and I asked her to take them away and she is in the same boat - doesn't want to look at them!

One thing I like to do is to convert in my head how much work a piece of food would require of me in the gym. For example: "This cinnamon roll I am about to eat is 450 calories. That's 30 minutes of intense calisthenics or 3.15 miles on the treadmill."

I see that, and suddenly my enthusiasm drops dramatically.

Personally, I would love to see nutrition labels include how many pushups or burpees the food would require to burn off. It might really change my choices for eating.

That would be a great idea! Also - I wish fast food restaurants - all restaurants HAD to show the calories. Ireland still hasn't got this and I think it would make people on diets far more comfortable going out for dinner!
