Totally off topic, but for a second, I swear I read that as "Peeing garlic." I should go to bed now.

The only word that comes to mind is "clumpy." No, wait, "painful and clumpy"--two words I've never associated with garlic until now.

    I hate you.

I was going to add this as a cooking tip, but saw it was already here, so.... I'm bumping it instead. I'm putting together a bean avocado garlic soup today and am using two heads of garlic. I use garlic in EVERYTHING, and this 10 second peeling technique is pretty freaking awesome.

Or you could just simply use the garlic press and throw away the peel :)

Yep, that would work for some things. Kinda hard to slice or mince the the garlic afterwards, I've never been a fan of presses (or most kitchen gadgets). It doesn't really save me time when I want to do something to a whole bulb at once, which is pretty common.

This is just as effective. Put the bulb into a ziplock bag and seal it. Bang it a few times with a rubber mallet (indispensable in the kitchen, by the way). Remove the cloves that have been freed from their dry hulls. Toss the hulls in the compost or trash, save the bag for the next step.

To pulverize garlic, put a peeled clove (ot tow, three, a hundred) in a ziplock bag and seal it. Bangbangbang it with a rubber mallet until it's a paste. Scrape the paste out of the bag and get cooking.

Works great for chopping nuts and other things, too. I use my rubber mallet almost daily in the kitchen.

Take it from an Italian. I go through garlic like some people go through M&Ms.

I tried it in a pot with a lid it works. I did not think I could successful hold the two bowls together. The pot was very easy to hold closed. soupspiceeverythingnice.blogspot.com/2014/06/tip-easy-way-to-peel-garlic.html
