Okay, I've been reading the boards everyday, and I though I understood. I changed my activity level from Sedentary to Lightly Active, since I have gone from sitting all day, to moving around. Actually walking to the mail box, etc. Not really working out, but moving. My calorie allowance went up. Did I make a mistake? I really want to get this right. I will keep reading, and maybe it will sink in. :) I'm starting to think part of my weight issue, aside from lack of exercise, and Fibromyalgia, was not actually eating enough. If that makes sense. At any rate I will continue to improve my diet.

I'm 5'5" and weigh 327
Thanks in advance for any input.

The more active you are the more calories the system will give you.

Also, when you do input exercise it will tell you to eat more as well.

You can lose weight solely on diet alone. Ensure you eat enough and ensure you get proper nutrition.

Yep, absolutely correct. The more you do, the more your body needs.'

Have you looked at your number on a site like iifym.com? Total eye opener for me. I was eating below my minimum every single day. Bumped my calories up above my BMR and below my TDEE (by about 15%) and weight is just falling off. I don't have a model diet by any means ( i love my scotch), but I've always dieted by eating too little and end up "cheating" because I was hungry. Not any more.

Also, think about it like this - the more you exercise the more you need to eat. Or, even better, if you want to eat more than your numbers allow, just burn some calories!
  • Thanks for the help. I'm hoping that this works. It's so different from everything I've ever known as far as dieting goes. It's so much easier. Makes me wonder why all those Dr's. that told me to lose weight , never explained it . Almost seems to easy, but I'm already starting to feel better, so the journey begins. :)
