Weight lost, strength gained...

I did my physiological assessment at the University's exercise physiology lab and got some great news! I'd like to share my results from two years ago and today. A big thank you to MFP and my friends and family, both online and off, for helping me get here!

January 2011 January 2013

Weight: 158.0 lbs - 135.9 lbs

Body fat percentage: 28.1% - 19.79%

Modified push-ups to failure: 16 - 42 (27 is considered excellent)

Curl-ups (max in a minute): 58 (90th percentile) - 82 (70 is the 100th percentile)

Hamstring flexibility (sit and reach): 25 cm - 33.5 cm (went from the "Needs Improvement" category to "Good" category)

Shoulder flexibility: not tested - 5.25 cm (Excellent)

VO2 max: 38.5 ml/kg/min - 41.5 ml/kg/min

Resting BP: 106/74 - 102/68

And though it wasn't tested as part of the assessment, two years ago I couldn't do a pull-up to save my life. And now? Two solid from a dead hang!

Again, thanks for all the support/encouragement/tools MFP! :flowerforyou: Looking forward to a great 2013!!

A pull up...to do one is my goal for this year. :)
    Good for you!

I wish I had somewhere around where I live to get an assessment like the one you had done.

Same here! I find it really helpful.

They did both BIA (bioelectrical impedance analysis) using a meter, and the skinfold test.
