I went with a belt from Rogue Fitness. It's a good quality leather, reasonably priced, and they actually size them small enough that it fits my waist.0

Thanks for the recommendation!0

I've never considered getting a belt.. I've heard mixed things like that it can make you not use your muscles like you should and rely on the belt ? I didn't look much into it though
What are you going to use ti for?

does not just sucking in and using your abs to stabilize your back do the same thing?0

Use a belt in all your lifting sessions then slip a disc picking up carrier bags out shopping one day?
Train those stabilizers!0 -

Thanks for the feedback!
I'm at the point where I'm lifting my 1RM and want to make sure I protect my back when lifting. I only plan to use it at that point- not in my daily lifting.0 -

Really the typically accepted used of a belt is 85%+ of your 1RM, whether you're working to 5 reps or 1 rep. Don't be afraid to use a belt, trust me you train your stabilizer muscles plenty. Plus, it's okay to do a little ab work to help strengthen your abdominals. Even pro powerlifters do direct ab work, no crime in doing some abs, despite what some bro-science advocates on this site will tell you. Although you don't need to do a lot ab work when you do squats, deadlifts, etc.0 -
